Wrist and hand symptoms can come from repetitive strain, tendon irritation, nerve sensitivity, or even the neck/shoulder. The key is identifying what’s driving your symptoms — not just chasing the pain.
Common triggers
• Long hours at a keyboard/mouse
• Gripping tools, weights, or a phone
• Repetitive wrist bending
What you can try first
• Reduce the aggravating motion for 7–10 days
• Neutral wrist position (especially at night)
• Gentle forearm mobility and grip breaks
When to get evaluated
If you have numbness/tingling, night symptoms, dropping objects, or symptoms that persist, it’s time for a focused exam to determine whether it’s carpal tunnel, tendonitis, or another source.
