At the Active Care of Spine Center we offer a number of services and can tailor a treatment plan to fit your needs.

Chiropractic

Chiropractors are doctors that focus on the spine and other joints of the body.  The primary tool of the chiropractor is manual manipulation of these joints. Joint manipulation has been shown to decrease pain and improve range of motion.  

 

Dr. Gordon is proficient in many techniques and styles of manipulation from diversified technique to gentle and non-force styles. Dr. Gordon's treatments are tailored to the needs of his patients so he is capable of treating a 300 pound football player or a delicate 90 year old with great effect.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a technique to stimulate specific points on the body with thin sterile needles.  These points are expertly chosen to change muscle tone and brain chemistry, providing relief from a variety of ailments including chronic and acute pain, fibromyalgia, tendinitis, headaches, back and neck pain, and stress.  

 

Acupuncture continues to show promise as modern research is catching up with this ancient healing system. Dr. Gordon is proficient in many techniques and styles of acupuncture including dry needling, trigger point therapy, electro-acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Myofascial Release

Dr.Gordon utilizes a number of myofascial release techniques including active release, fascial manipulation, Graston technique, and deep tissue.  

 

These techniques work to increase circulation and healing, improve range of motion and decrease pain. They are an excellent complement to both chiropractic and acupuncture.

Core Strengthening

Research has shown that good core musculature control is a key component to relieving and even preventing back pain.  

 

Well versed in the work of Prof. Stuart McGill and his contemporaries in the field of functional rehabilitation, Dr. Gordon posses a versatile skill set making him capable of relieving pain, speeding a return to sport, and even performance enhancement.  

Kenisiology Tape

Kinesiology tape has been shown to be a very effective tool in treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions.  

 

The tape helps to unload fascia, calm painful nerve endings, support musculature, and speed healing.

McKenzie Technique

McKenzie technique is an effective physical therapy technique that Dr. Gordon utilizes primarily to treat radiculopathies including sciatica and other pinched nerves.  The technique is safe, gentle, and effective.

Cupping

Cupping has been a technique utilized throughout Asia and the Middle East for a millennia.  It has gotten a lot of attention lately as an effective tool to relieve pain and stimulate healing.  Dr. Gordon uses cupping for neck pain, low back pain, tendonitis and other painful conditions.
